Original Art for Laurel Wreath
a laurel leaf bound by a heart of gold with a lean toward the Mammen art style
English Translation of runes on the chest - an honor poem in saga style.
Wolf Runes - The Secrets of Ulfrún
Bare of foot, yet bold in bearing,
Ulfrún treads with steady might.
Gold of heart and hands unfailing,
Saga’s flame in deepest night.
Fame she paints with raven’s wisdom,
Sagas shaped in boldest hue.
Through her hands, the deeds of heroes
Echo wide, and all rings true.
Once was near Nine-Fingered naming,
When her blade went chasing flesh.
Red her hand, yet firm her carving,
Bold heart and spirit, yet refreshed.
At Hnefatafl, board-lords falter,
Queen unseen, her path precise.
War-king fled, his reign to alter,
Toppled by her throw of dice.
April’s sun on fields is gleaming,
Nineteenth day, in year five-nine.
Kilian konungr, Jalida dróttning,
Stand in grace, where stars align.
To shield and spear, to hall and oar,
Send forth their words, heed summon’s call.
Let winds bear witness, ravens soar,
Their will be known by one and all.
Bare of foot, yet bold in bearing,
Ulfrún stands with steady grace.
Laurel placed, her skill declaring,
A mark that time shall not erase.
Let the sagas, mark this calling,
Skald and carver, wise and wry.
Craft and lore forever claiming,
Barefoot still, and walking high.
